Fantastic Holiday.
First visit to Islay. The location of the pods is stunning. The pod was ready early, was well equipped and immaculately clean and well presented. Owner very helpful with internet connection and general information about the island. Will definitely return again.

Splashy Landing
We had an absolute blast at the pod, Ardbeg pod was incredibly cozy and welcoming for a young couple travelling abroad together. As being Scotch fans being in the same bay as lagavulin was special, and extra spectacular walking in the Bay with our coffee watching the sun rise over the distillery and surrounding Bay. Only hitch we weren't expecting was the challenges of getting around the island when it is raining. Thankfully the locals are incredible and came to our rescue. We absolutely would stay here again, next time we come we will absolutely hire a car to explore more.

A really beautiful spot and a really nice pod. Everything worked well and the cleanliness was next level compared to numerous hotel rooms I have stayed in. Also fantastic nature and magnificent single malt whiskies. I definately hope to come back some day.

Fantastic
We have just returned from a 4 night stay in the Tin House. It has been wonderful. We have never stayed in such a well appointed and comfortable self catering cottage.The view was beautiful, the location excellent on the cycle path and the food recommendations by the staff were perfect.We only wished we had booked an extra night to ensure we saw the whole island.Thanks for a great trip

Amazing Stay in the Laphroaig Pod
We loved our stay in the Laphroaig Storm Pod when we visited in June 2024.The pods were clean when we arrived and had everything we would need for the few nights we stayed there. We loved the location of the pods, situated along the shore of Lagavulin Bay with great views across to Dunyvaig Castle.Ardbeg, Lagavulin and Laphroaig distilleries are all within walking distance from the pods so they are the ideal choice of accommodation for any whisky lover visiting Islay.

Fantastic stay in a picturesque setting
We were so lucky to have booked this accommodation when looking for a place to stay on Islay. You are only a short walk from the distilleries, but on the bus route too, so is close enough to everything yet far enough out the road to be as peaceful and relaxing as hoped. You couldn't really ask for a better view from the stormpods and the accommodation was spotless and fitted all our needs. We will definitely be booking again in the future

Traumhaft.Die Lage an einer schönen Bucht mit Blick auf das Meer.Viele Wasservögel vor der Tür.In der Nachbarschaft zu einer Seite Lagavulin Distille und auf der anderen Seite Laphroaig.Nach Port Ellen sind es 3,5 km auf einen separaten Fußweg neben der Straße.Das Pod Laphroaig ist funktionell eingerichtet. Bis zu 3 Personen okay.Würden gerne wieder kommen.Absolut empfehlenswert.

Perfect!
We had a wonderful stay in our Tin Cottage. The cottage was super clean and the facilities were perfect for our days on Islay. The communication beforehand was also very good and left no questions unanswered.We wanted for nothing and enjoyed every day. 2nd time and not a disappointment
We stayed in the Tin Hut, it was very well appointed, clean and comfortable. The views didn't disappoint. The staff when we did see them were polite and chatty.Really happy with the stay, already looking forward to going back.

Location: Wow
I stayed in a Lagavulin pod, which was perfect for my stay. The location of the pod was perfect for accessing the three distilleries (I travelled by foot). It is in a peaceful spot by the harbour which was picturesque to have as a view from your windows. The pod was cosy and warm, capturing all the days sun and had all the amenities I needed. I would stay again.

A slice of paradise
Firstly, the location is absolutely stunning and puts you right in touch with nature. The sea changes colour depending on the weather, the sound of the birds and the water is always there outside the door, the light changes throughout the day, and when the wind is blowing and the rain is pouring (as it did during our stay) you feel it pounding on the Tin House while you're all cosy inside. This place was completely restorative for this young family.That's before we even get to how accommodating the owners are, how modern and tastefully done the house is, or how well-placed it is for exploring beautiful Islay (and of course whisky distilleries).Would highly recommend and then some. Great stay at the storm pods!
We stayed for two nights in the Laphroaig pod in February. Our stay was beyond our expectations, the location of the pods is amazing with constant views of Lagavulin bay. The owners are very welcoming and friendly and the pods are particularly well equipped. It was a very comfortable stay with the highlights being being so close to the water!

Incredible views, perfectly placed
We had the best time at tin house. There was 11 of us split into three of the pods and we all had the best time. So convenient being so close to Lagavulin and Laphroaig. Do not recommend cycling from Lagavulin to caol Ila. Even though the views are incredible.

Our piece of heaven
This is the fourth visit we have made to these pods. The accommodation is cosy and comfortable and the location is just amazing: secluded and peaceful overlooking Lagavulen Bay with an abundance of wildlife to watch (seals, sea otters and numerous birds). We always have a fantastic time discovering new walks and exploring the distilleries. The people are so friendly too.

So relaxing!
A really enjoyable stay in comfort with a fabulous view. Warm and cosy and everything we needed. We had to cut our trip short due to CalMac which was really unfortunate. Wildlife abounds here; watched harbour seals undergoing courtship, an otter feeding just a long the coast, a white tailed eagle doing a really really low flyby, hedgehogs on the lawn, all to the sound of rutting stags on the hillside above. At the night the stars here are unbelievable. Can't wait to return.

Islay is the most wonderful place I have ever been and the pods, well, they just added to the charm.We stayed 2 married couple in one pod, it was a little tight but doable.I wish I had spent my whole 2 week vacation there.Kitchenette was enough for our needs.

Magic location!
Had an absolutely lovely 3-night stay with our 2 dogs in Ardbeg Storm Pod.The pod was spotlessly clean and the location is fantastic for getting to the nearby distilleries.The best part of staying here is the view out onto Lagavulin Bay where we were lucky enough to see a family of otters frolicking as well as seals and various birds!! Highly recommend staying at this wonderful accommodation!

Fabulous
Our 3rd time staying at the Islay pods, previously with a group of pals, and his time just on our own.Great pods, warm and comfortable in a amazing location, always a changing viewPort Ellen is within walking distance with pubs and restaurants , and a good co-op.Islay sea adventures are really good, well worth doing, we did the wild life trip, absolutely stunning scenery with seals, sea birds and Deers 👍Gus who owns the pods and also runs the boat trips is great fun, and verykind(cheers for the lift)👍Hannah is very knowledgeable also, and good fun.We will be back soon 👍

Cute, cozy, great location
Loved the Laghroaig pod.If you are visiting Islay for the distilleries, the location is great. Walk to Laghroaig, Lagavulin, Ardbeg, downtown Port Ellen, and the Dunnyvaig Castle all within about 4 miles of each other. The pod had all the basics that we needed for our stay, although I'd suggest buying paper towels. Also, heads up that cell service was spotty (Tmobile) and there was no wifi. The View of the bay from the pod is outstanding.Wish we'd had more time to sit and enjoy it!Highly recommend the pods if you're staying on Islay.

Outstanding
The pods were perfect for us. The price is much better than any hotel or bed and breakfast, and the location is walkable to three distilleries (Laphroaig, Lagavulin, and Ardbeg). The view is stunning. The bedding was very nice. One thing for people to know is that there are no towels (was fine for us as we had them).

A little piece of heaven
We stayed in the Dunyvaig and Ardbeg storm pods at the start of the school holidays having had the glamping pods recommended by friends who had stayed previously.The pods were clean, well stocked with essentials and made great use of available space.I will remember for a long time waking up and being able to have a morning coffee overlooking the bay accompanied occasionally by seals and even, one morning, a fly by sea eagle. If you are thinking about visiting Islay or staying at the storm pods you won’t regret it ☺️👏🏻

Second time we have stayed at one of the pods. The accommodation is realy good.We have now stayed in the Ardbeg pod and the Tin House. Highly recommend both.Absolutely amazing setting. Walking distance of 3 distilleries: Lagavulin,Ardbeg and Laphroaig. Stunning views for each of the pods. Saw seals, otters, Greyland Geese, swans and Oyster Catchers.

We loved our stay on Islay and the storm pods were perfect. Booking was easy and we had all the information we needed emailed to us before arriving. We stayed in the Kidalton pod, it was really comfortable, well laid out, and very clean. We appreciated Gus stopping off for a wee chat on our arrival, made us feel very welcome. The actual setting of the pods is magical, We spend most our time sitting on the decking looking out over the bay, so peaceful. The pods have been spaced out very well and we weren't really aware of the other guests. It was a magical few days for us and we can't wait to visit again.

Amazing and cosy
My daughter and I stayed 3 nights in the Ardbeg Stormpod. Very clean & well fitted out. Perfect location right next to Lagavulin Bay. Loved sitting on the patio which was protected from the wind. Great views and saw the young seals playing in the evening. We had 1 very bad storm with 50mph gusts but the pod was warm/quiet. Best location for walking to the three whiskey distilleries nearby. We went on the Ardbeg one which was v interesting, 3 drams to try and great food van afterwards. Would definitely recommend and would stay again.

A lovely weekend
We arrived at Storm Pods and our first impression was very good. We had rented the Kildalton pod and it is in a lovely setting, facing Lagavulin bay just yards from the water. It's private and very modern with a covered balcony area which includes a barbecue and picnic bench. Opening the patio doors we found an open plan kitchenette and sitting room with large sofa and dining table. The bedroom was very clean and bright with a beautiful view of the bay. We couldn't complain about anything at all. We had a great weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We will definitely be back.

Well above expectations!
Cosy place located close to 3 major whiskey distilleries, hard to find a better location! Also nice to have a fridge, some kitchen supplies and to be able too have a BBQ. Would definitely stay there again!

Stunning location
We stayed for three nights in the tin cottage. Everything you need in the accomodation for a great stay. Three distilleries and Port Ellen within walking distance. Peaceful, relaxing, and in an amazing location- perfect!
The pods are absolutely perfect blend comfort, space, cleanliness and location. Everything we needed and nothing we didn’t. Great for family bbq on our second night. Would definitely stay here again. We stayed in Kildalton , it has a canopy making it feel even more cosy especially if it rains .

Nice accommodations, but far from town
We enjoyed our time at the Ardbeg pod. It was just my husband and I, but I do r think it would sleep 6 comfortably, maybe 4. We loved the water and the quiet. If you plan to visit Lagavulin, Laphroaig, and Ardbeg only, you are very close to these three. Town is far (about 2 miles or a 45 minute walk), so rent a car or get bikes if planning to see more. There is no place to purchase food or grab a bite to eat other than in town. Overall, a great experience.

We have been here this week from 16th till 19th of June. The Tin House was full equipped, clean and big enough for our group of five adults. On top a great view to the Lagavulin distillery and the bay. Greetings to Gus, who gave usa little insight to open and taste scallops. Thanks again for that lesson :) Unforgettable the evening live session with pipes from the backyard behind us. We would love to come back!

Stunning Setting with Spotlessly Clean Cabin
We travelled to Islay on Friday 16th to Monday 19th June, Myself and a friend booked the Kildalton pod.We arrived at 9:20am and the pod was ready for us to decamp to, met the owners who were delightful. The setting was stunning and we had everything inside the pod that we needed. The setting was stunning as was the weather, it set up our Sunday of walking to Laphroaig, Lagavulin and Ardbeg perfectly.We will book this pod again for sure, It was just what we needed.Thanks for having us

Wonderful Islay
I was fortunate enough that my friend had booked me into Gus's fantastic storm pods. View of the beautiful bay was great. Pod was modern and spotlessy clean. I had my assistance dog with me and he was made very welcome. Staff were fantastic. I can only say that I will return to the same pods in the future we had a wonderful relaxing time.

Everything you need!
We stayed in the Ardbeg Storm-pod for three nights and we really enjoyed our stay. Everything was very clean und the pod ist well equipped. But the best part is the location. The pods are located in a small bay - where you can watch some seals swimming and escape the daily routine - and just a wee walk away from Lagavulin distillery. It was not my first stay in one of the pods and will also not be my last one!

A beautiful and tranquil location overlooking the bay. We had eagles and seals to keep us entertained. In terms of the accommodation, it was well presented, clean and appointed as per description. I've never been in a more cute and cozy place. Small but wow! All you need included. I travelled with my parents, we had enough room, views are amazing! Everything is clean and tidy, new and shiny. Perfect spot if you want to enjoy Islay South Coast, including distillerys (5 min walk to Lagavulin, 20min walk to Laphroaig and Ardbeg) or other highlights such as Dunyvaig Castle or Kildalton Cross! Best stay on Islay
Fantastic and original stay on Islay. The pods are brilliantly desinged and blend into nature. They are all unique, comfortable and well-made. The location is great - on the three distillery walk and not far from Port Ellen (ferry + supermarkets + some bars and restaurants). The view from the place is stunning. There is also a bus stop within 5 minutes walking distance. The owners of the place are extremely nice and helpful. We highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Islay.

What a fabulous location. The beautifully appointed cabins had everything we needed for our 4 night stay. The view was amazing the wildlife right outside. Gus was very welcoming and friendly and when on our final morning we had car trouble him and the team could not have been more helpful. If we return to Islay this will be where we will stay.

Stunning
The pods are fantastic, so clean and well positioned. A great way to stay on the island especially as a family. The views from the pod are stunning whether its sunny or raining (we had both). Every pod is set back so you don't really notice the other ones around you. Our 5 year old loved the futon pull out bed and we loved sitting in bed in the morning looking out at the bay with a coffee. I've already had friends asking for the details after seeing our pictures. Thank you to the hosts you've provided affordable, unique and luxury accommodation in one... not easy to achieve.

Fantastic Stay.
Stayed for a week in this beautiful and peaceful location. The pod was very comfortable, warm and decorated to a very high standard. The bed was extremely comfortable.It has everything that you need for your stay and the sunrise in the morning is a spectacle to behold. My second visit of the year and something like my 10th since I started visiting the pods several years ago. I love it a bit more every time. Wow, this is the place to stay on Islay!
We are just back from a stunning weekend on the island of Islay. The Storm Pods are at the place to stay!. We lucked out by choosing the Tin House. This is a stunning property, clean, fresh and new with a very spacious living area.We had two adults and one young adult in our group and the accommodation was perfect. The owner Gus could not be more helpful as were his colleagues in the office. Most importantly, this is all about the location. You wake up to a stunning sunrise over a tranquil Bay in Lagavulin. The pods are walking distance to the distillery, and indeed all three distilleries on the coastal distillery path.We took a boat trip (wildlife tour) with Gus’ Islay Sea Adventures which was a must do. Admittedly, the weather which was glorious in September.Proper fast Wi-Fi and all mod cons in simple butcomfortable accommodation.We have stayed in the smaller storm pods themselves on previous occasions and they are equally as good albeit more compact.

5 Star!! Absolutely fantastic - great accommodation, jaw-dropping location and super friendly owner
We LOVE the Stormpods. They are located in Lagavulin Bay on Islay along the super 3 mile cycle/walking track from Port Ellen taking you past the whisky distilleries of Laphroaig, Lagavulin and Ardbeg, making it easy to visit each of these Whisky distilleries with no driving required :) Ardbeg serves good food too. We have stayed in most of the Stormpods now and they are great value and provide excellent accommodation in a stunningly beautiful location. It is similar to camping in that you feel like you are living outdoors, feeling close to nature and getting away from it all but without the downsides of camping - no being cold or having to trudge in the dark to a shower/toilet. The Stormpods are lovely warm cosy places with a great double bed, sofa bed, shower, toilet, outside seating and BBQ and the best of all, right beside the most beautiful bay, you can wake up and look out the window and see the sunrise over the bay - magical. The stars at night too are awesome. Our kids paddleboarded right outside the front door so in view at all times and safe in the bay. They were absolutely gobsmaked when a seal popped its head up about 20 feet from the board - an experience to remember. The owner, Gus, is super friendly and helpful (responding within minutes to enquiries). He kindly let us store our belongings in the office for the day while we were out sightseeing before check in. His company, Islay Sea Adventures, has several boats and do water tours and trips. We did the 2 hour wildlife tour which was brilliant and we saw lots of deer, seals, 2 eagles and various other birds plus the boat goes past Laphroaig, Lagavulin and Ardbeg Distilleries but viewed from the water, lots of great photo opportunities. Harold on board was a legend, with a wealth of knowledge and entertaining stories about the Island, distilleries, famous Islay people and wildlife, he even gave us a dram of whisky and sweeties. The Stormpods are cleverly built too in that they feel very private with each one positioned/hidden largely out of sight of the others so you can feel like the only ones there. The Tin House is great too. Again, warm and cozy with great cooking facilities and Wifi. We never want to leave and can't wait to be back. Thank you Stormpods for another magical trip.

An amazing place with beautiful view. Islay itself is already a beautiful place, but this locations makes your stay perfect on walk distance of 3 of the famous distilleries; Lagavulin, Ardbeg and Laphroaig.The Tin House is beautiful for larger parties and the smaller pods for couples and small families. We stayed in the Tim House which was also very clean!!We loved it.We have visited this campsite/accommodation as part of our 1-year-through-Europe-tour, which we have started 3 weeks ago (together with James, our Australian Labradoodle). Fabulous place for my 50th birthday!
A wonderful stay at the Islay pods, helped by brilliant weather! A stunning location with fantastic views over Lagavulin Bay. We made use of the BBQ and found the facilities to be exactly as described. Everything was clean, tidy and surprisingly spacious.Walking distance to Port Ellen (1/2 hr along an easy trail) and staggering distance for three distilleries. Couldn't have asked for a better location to celebrate turning 50 and I look forward to returning to the same pod (Dunyvaig) well before I'm 60!😁

Perfect stay, for the third time!
We’ve come back after a few years and once again, everything was absolutely perfect. The pods (we’ve been in three different ones now) are all beautiful and the location is perfect between Laphroaig and Lagavulin, just near the road but perfectly secluded and with stunning views. We rented with high expectations and were amazed.Next time we’re staying for a week, two nights was not enough. Great pod with everything you need. It’s only a short and beautiful bike ride from Port Ellen, and since it’s on the path of the three distilleries you find great whisky close by. This was our second time staying at the dunyveig pod. The pod is located in a sheltered bay with beautiful views out to sea.It's right beside the pathway/cycle path and takes around 15-20 minutes to cycle to port Ellen.The pod itself is warm and comfortable, perfect for a small family. We will definitely be back.

I fell in love with this place the first time I stayed at the pods (Lagavulin, to be specific). The peacefulness of this place, the raw beauty, and off-the-grid charm of it makes for an amazing vacation spot. Not to mention that it is next door to my favorite Scotch of all time! Beautiful, relaxing place to stay
This is the second time we have stayed in Dunyvaig (the first time was four years ago) and we loved it even more. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed (though we wished we'd found the toaster earlier). It's such a beautiful place to stay and we felt completely relaxed. Port Ellen and a few of the distilleries are in walking distance so it felt secluded, but not cut off. The lack of phone and internet signal was a bonus!

Stunning place a hidden gem and owner’s are so helpful and accommodating and accommodation perfect

Great place!
Stopped for 4 nights in Laphroaig pod. Lovely quiet location with a great view. Weather was great but with a cool wind so didn’t use the bbq. Lagavulin distillery just up the road so easy staggering distance! Used microwave for breakfast porridge which was fine. Electric heater great in the pod and the electric shower was plenty hot enough. Very useful storage under the bed for all bags and cases so the main area is not cluttered. Easy to park close to top up the electric car which was an added bonus. Really enjoyed our stay there.

Wonderful
Just stayed in the brand new Kildalton pod. It was superb. Bed was so comfy. Kitchen had everything you could need for a weekend. Lovely big shower with plenty hot water.Nice new covered deck with brand new bbq ( which i didnt use as weather wasnt great)The view was stunning and the hosts were really helpful with all my queries. Just a wonderful place to spend a trip to Islay.

Pods were amazing
We were treated by Claire who had the pods looking amazing for us and was really friendly and informative about the area. Couldn't have asked for a better start to a great weekend. The pods themselves were warm and cozy and the views are fantastic. Definitely be returning.

beautiful peaceful location
A lovely glamping pod in a beautiful setting. A little bit limited in terms of cooking facilities but we brought a camping stove which was a perfect addition.Only a few kilometers from Port Ellen, easy to cycle to and from.We really enjoyed our stay, and would go back in a heartbeat.

Podtastic!
Had a fantastic experience staying in the Laphroaig pod in Feb with my partner. The pods are very well constructed, warm with great views out to sea and perfectly located to explore some of Islay’s best distilleries. The owner was very welcoming and helpful and even gave us a lift back from Port Ellen Co-op when we bumped into him so we didn’t have to walk back in the rain. Highly recommend booking.

Amazing.
While my timing for Islay was not the best, the Islay Pods were. Mid-January is a quiet time on the island and left me and my partner as some of the only tourists there. The pods were fantastic, comfy, convenient, and right next to some of my favorite distilleries. We stumbled into some great winter weather that made for fantastics sunsets and sunrises over Lagavulin Bay.Hannah and Gus at the office were amazing and friendly.

Beautiful views and excellently equipped
Travelled to Islay specifically to stay here and it didn’t disappoint. Fantastically well equipped, clear instructions for check in and out - of course the main feature is the incredible views of Lagavulin Bay. Super close to the Lagavulin distillery and accessible for Port Ellen by car (or bike if you’re fit!) Great heater and facilities and a good nights sleep despite being so close to the elements, a great alternative to camping for those of us who can’t quite stomach being away from amenities!

Perfect Long Weekend Break
We stayed at the laphroaig storm pod for my husbands birthday and thoroughly recommend the accommodation and beautiful location on lagavulin bay. The pod is very well equipped, clean, comfortable and the best “glamping” experience we’ve had.

What a lovely place !!!! Very nice location, very clean and tidy and the view!!!! Good location if you want to visit distilleries : three of them in walking distance. Definitely will come back and would recommend to others

Excellent base for exploring the distilleries
Had a fantastic weekend in March 2019. Stayed in the Lagavulin pod. It was clean, well furnished and comfy. The location is fantastic, it’s about 10 meters from the sea and next to the Lagavulin Distillery Visitors Centre. Laphroaig and Ardbeg are a short walk in either direction. The hills are stunning and accessible by walking a few miles. There’s a huge amount of history nearby with old forts, standing stones etc. The owner was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely come again

Beautiful hideaway in central location
Gus was the loveliest host - very welcoming and helpful. Stunning location right on Lagavulin bay and a perfect place to explore the local distilleries and island. We stayed in the Solum pod, very cosy and the facilities were excellent including a BBQ and fridge. Fantastic stay - highly recommend!
